Port Talbot, March 11, 2026 – A fire outside the Burger Boyz restaurant on Commercial Road has prompted an appeal for information following an alleged arson incident in the early hours of Tuesday, March 10.
Local authorities reported that the fire, ignited in rubbish bins behind the establishment, was swiftly reported by employees at a nearby business, Lunacy Boutique, who contacted emergency services before the flames could escalate.
The management of Burger Boyz expressed gratitude towards the boutique for their rapid response, which mitigated potential damage to the restaurant.
CCTV Footage Under Investigation
The incident has drawn attention on social media, with circulating CCTV footage allegedly depicting a woman near the bins when the fire began. Described as having dark hair tied back, she appears to be using a phone as the flames ignite. Additional video footage later shows her leaving the scene, wearing black heeled ankle boots, skinny jeans, and carrying a small sparkly bag.
Images shared online reveal the aftermath of the fire, consisting of charred cardboard, melted plastic, and scattered debris in the area.
In a public statement, Burger Boyz has urged anyone with details about the incident or the individual involved to come forward. “If anyone has information regarding who set our bins on fire in Port Talbot around midnight, please reach out,” the statement read.
Police Confirm Investigation
South Wales Police have acknowledged being alerted to the fire through the fire service. A spokesperson indicated that officers are currently examining CCTV footage to aid their investigation. “We have been made aware of a rubbish fire on Commercial Road that is believed to have been deliberately set,” stated the police representative.
