In a recent research update, First Berlin Equity Research GmbH has increased its rating for Rock Tech Lithium Inc. (ISIN: CA77273P2017) from Hold to Buy, setting a 12-month price target of CAD 2.40. This adjustment comes in light of the company’s strategic partnership with Siemens, which is expected to enhance its planned lithium converter facility in Red Rock, Ontario.
The collaboration will see Siemens integrate its Digital Twin technology into the design and operation of the Red Rock converter. Additionally, Siemens will explore further solutions and engineering support to establish the site as a model for future lithium conversion facilities throughout Canada and allied markets. This announcement aligns with ongoing Canadian, German, G7, and EU efforts to reduce reliance on Chinese imports of critical minerals and bolster domestic production capabilities amid rising U.S. tariffs.
Notably, the Canadian government has also prioritized the Red Rock converter in its G7 Critical Minerals Production Alliance (CMPA), which now includes 56 projects with a cumulative projected capital expenditure of CAD 18.5 billion. Also, last December, Ontario’s government launched a CAD 500 million Critical Minerals Processing Fund (CMPF) aimed at facilitating strategic investments in critical mineral projects to enhance local supply chains.
The partnership with Siemens enhances the likelihood that Rock Tech’s Red Rock project will qualify for funding through the CMPF. There are indications that Siemens might also consider an equity stake in the converter’s development. However, until more funding announcements are made, the price target remains unchanged at CAD 2.40, with the Buy recommendation firmly in place.
