Shooting Incident at Rihanna’s Home Leads to Arrest of Suspect
A dramatic incident unfolded at the residence of renowned singer Rihanna, as a suspect, identified as Ortiz, allegedly discharged a firearm multiple times towards the property before fleeing the scene.
Ortiz’s vehicle, a white Tesla, was later discovered approximately eight miles away from the singer’s home, parked at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, where she was subsequently apprehended by law enforcement.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman condemned the incident, stating, “Opening fire in any populated neighborhood is extremely dangerous, puts lives at risk, and will be fully prosecuted.” He emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting that individuals were present both within Rihanna’s home and in the adjacent properties at the time of the shooting.
“This reckless violence will not be tolerated in our community. Shooters will find their next destination to be our jails and prisons,” Hochman warned.
Ortiz faces multiple serious charges, including ten felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.
Authorities have reportedly uncovered a series of social media posts from Ortiz that reference Rihanna. In one post on X, she wrote, “Are you there? … say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I’m not at.”
Video footage from the day following the incident shows luggage being removed from the property, stirring public interest in the unfolding events.
Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, gained international fame in the 2000s with her chart-topping songs such as “Pon de Replay” and “Umbrella.” She shares three children with her partner, A$AP Rocky, who was recently found not guilty in a separate trial concerning a firearm incident involving a former acquaintance. During that trial, Rihanna was seen in court with her two sons.
As investigations continue, the community remains on high alert following this alarming outbreak of violence.
