Oppo Unveils Crease-less Technology in Find N6 Foldable Display
Oppo has raised the bar in the foldable smartphone market with its upcoming Find N6, poised to be the first device to eliminate the notorious display crease. In a recent series of teasers shared with GSMArena, the company elaborated on the innovative technologies behind its latest foldable design.
Key to this advancement is the introduction of the “2nd-generation Titanium Flexion Hinge.” This new hinge incorporates specially designed “photopolymer resin droplets” created through a liquid 3D printing process. This method allows for the seamless filling of any irregularities within the hinge structure. After application, ultraviolet (UV) light is utilized to cure these droplets layer by layer, resulting in a more refined component.
Furthermore, the display’s hardware has been engineered with a wider waterdrop configuration when closed, effectively reducing stress on the panel itself. The use of a titanium alloy in the hinge and wing plates helps enhance durability, while carbon fiber serves as the main support plate that secures the display to the hinge.
Another noteworthy improvement comes with the introduction of “Auto-Smoothing Flex Glass,” which is reportedly 50% thicker than traditional ultra-thin glass. This advanced material minimizes movement during the phone’s regular folding and unfolding processes, thus extending its longevity.
Oppo asserts that the Find N6’s crease-less display will maintain its smooth appearance for over 600,000 folds—a significant milestone that should excite consumers and tech enthusiasts alike. With the official launch looming, the anticipation for hands-on evaluations of this cutting-edge technology is palpable.
