Samsung Unveils First One UI 9 Build for Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S26 series, equipped with the stable version of One UI 8.5. This launch marks a significant milestone, as it has now paved the way for the introduction of the initial build of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Recently identified on Samsung’s servers by tech enthusiast Tarun Vats, the first One UI 9 build for the Galaxy S26 Ultra is denoted by a firmware version ending in BZC5, specifically for the global variant (SM-S948B). The update requires approximately 2.6GB of storage for installation.

The emergence of this build suggests that Samsung has commenced the development phase of its Android 17-based One UI 9 update for its latest flagship device. Reports indicate that the new software has already been successfully installed on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, showcasing several enhancements.

Visual representations of this build have also been released, featuring One UI 9 in action on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Adding to the excitement, Google has recently rolled out Android 17 Beta 2, building on the initial beta that was made available last month. This update introduces various improvements, such as enhancements to app windowing and the addition of lock screen widgets, aimed at optimizing the user experience across different screen sizes.

Notable new security features in Android 17 include SMS OTP protection and an Advanced Protection Mode, alongside significant updates to notification management and quick settings.

Looking ahead, Samsung is anticipated to release the stable version of Android 17 in mid-2026, coinciding with the introductions of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8. Prior to the official rollout, it is likely that Samsung will launch a One UI 9 Beta Program for the Galaxy S26 series, further engaging its user community in the evolution of its software offerings.
