Burson Audio, a renowned name in the Australian audio industry, has officially launched its Stellar series, featuring a new line of compact Class A desktop components. This series includes two prominent models: the Conductor Stellar and the Soloist Stellar, designed to cater to audiophiles seeking high-quality sound in a desktop format.
The Conductor Stellar serves a dual purpose as both a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and a Class A headphone amplifier, functioning effectively as a desktop preamplifier as well. In contrast, the Soloist Stellar operates solely as a headphone amplifier and preamp. Each model is crafted to drive a wide variety of headphones, accommodating everything from in-ear monitors to more exigent planar magnetic types. Both products boast ultra-low-noise amplification stages, allowing users to experience what Burson Audio describes as “exceptional micro-detail and realism.”
Enhanced Sound Performance
Both the Conductor Stellar and Soloist Stellar deliver an impressive 8 watts of Class A power. Burson Audio emphasizes that this power enables “outstanding resolution, dynamic contrast, and clarity,” essential for delivering an immersive listening experience. Each channel is powered by four optimized Onsemi MJE15032 transistors, aimed at enhancing the overall “control and musicality” of the audio output.
At the heart of the Conductor Stellar, which is positioned as the more versatile and high-end option, lies the ESS9039PRO DAC chip. This component is engineered for “exceptional resolution and dynamic range,” positioning the Conductor as a versatile choice for discerning listeners.
Inputs, Outputs, and Connectivity
The Conductor Stellar is equipped with balanced XLR and RCA inputs, as well as a USB-C input. Additionally, it features outputs for both 6.35mm and 3.5mm connections, along with XLR and RCA outputs and even a subwoofer output. The Soloist Stellar mirrors this connectivity, offering balanced XLR, 6.35mm, and 3.5mm headphone ports, in addition to XLR and RCA outputs and a sub out.
Both models support PCM files up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512. Furthermore, the Conductor Stellar includes Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connectivity, compatible with high-fidelity codecs such as LDAC and aptX HD, facilitating seamless streaming up to 24-bit/96kHz.

The Burson Audio Conductor Stellar is available now, retailing for £2000 / $1800 / €1900 / AU$2800. Meanwhile, the Soloist Stellar can be purchased for £1700 / $1500 / €1600 / AU$2600.
